Marcelle Soviero

WRITER, EDITOR, PUBLISHER, TEACHER, COACH

I love the color yellow—a glass of water with a lemon wheel hanging on the hip of the glass, a yellow Volkswagen bug from a year that predates even me, my collection of yellow-spined Nancy Drew books.

I started writing the day my mother gave me a canary-colored diary that looked like it had been steeped in sequins. It had a lock on its cover with a key the size of a bobby pin. I was six.

I love working with writers and creative people. I’ve been doing so in various roles for decades (see my third person bio for official details). I love people who have stories to tell and want to write them.

If I were a chef, I would prepare you meals with lots of colors, namely yellow even if I have to dye an onion or something, and I’d serve your food on vintage yellow plates with a homemade napkin ring (something that could double as a bookmark most likely)

If I were a recruiter, I would hire those people who could make things out of found objects- paperclips, trash bag ties, or tree bark.  I’d look for those people who can recite a non-rhyming poem from memory, or recommend a book that I love so much I go out and buy it in hardcover, in paperback, as an eBook and an audiobook.

But I’m not a designer, chef or recruiter. I have, at one time or another, been a technology reseller, corporate executive (too many times), waitress, publicist, board member and so on. When my five children were babies I was a burp cloth, as they grew I became a pajama-clad chauffeur, and as they turned into teenagers I came in handy as a surrogate frontal lobe. I am still doing that job.

I’ve also been the founder an arts & crafts company for children and their parents, an internet publishing consulting firm, and I still own and publish a literary magazine that I love.

But I have always been a writer and a teacher. I’ll help you write the stories you want to write. Then I’ll help you polish and publish them.

I’m so glad you’re here.
