about marcelle

"official" third-person bio

As a writing teacher and coach, and former editor and publisher, I've had the joy of working with hundreds of writers--new, emerging and established. Some have won literary awards, published memoirs, written essays and ebooks and launched author websites and established creative careers.

Some of my students write to heal or to give hope, to educate or entertain. Some write to unfold trauma and tragedy, others to explore family lore and legends.  I am grateful for each time I’ve been able to participate in a writer’s journey, it is  a gift to witness the transformation that happens with each word.

I started writing the day my mother gave me a canary-colored diary with a small lock and a key the size of a bobby pin. I was six. I continued writing  through my teen years as I juggled jobs  as camp counselor, diner waitress and college student. I wrote through motherhood as I doubled as a burp cloth, pajama-clad chauffeur, and surrogate frontal lobe; a job I still hold.

I moved into online publishing and content marketing and and eventually teacher, coach, editor-in-chief, and publisher. I love writing and I love teaching writing. I’ll help you write the stories you want to write. Then I’ll help you polish and publish them.

I’m so glad you’re here.
